In a few words: a short read of your month
On Statement, the Explain button writes three or four plain sentences about a closed month, using only the figures shown below it, with one suggested next step.
Why use it
A short read is quicker to take in than a table, and it points to the one thing worth doing next.
Before you start
- Pro, the free trial or a family plan
- A closed month with entries
How to do it
Open Statement and pick a closed month.
Select "Explain <month>". Nothing is read or written until you select it.
Read the sentences, then use the link below them if it helps: compare categories, set a limit, or put what was left toward a goal.
What happens next: A few sentences about the month and one forward step.
Where the words come from
The sentences are written only from the figures on the Statement. The figures below are the record; the words never add numbers of their own.
A label says how it was written: "Written by AI from your numbers" or "Written from your numbers by fixed rules" when AI is not available.
When you look at one account, the read covers that account only.
If something goes wrong
The figures changed while I was reading.
If you add or edit entries for that month, Savingy reloads the figures and you can explain the month again.
