Financial plan questions
What is a SIP and how is it calculated?
A SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) invests a fixed amount every month. Savingy uses the standard annuity-due formula — FV = P × [((1+i)^n − 1) / i] × (1+i) — where P is your monthly amount, i the monthly return, and n the number of months.
Is the Savingy financial plan free?
Yes. The planner works out your risk profile, emergency fund target, asset allocation and goal-based SIPs free, in your browser, on the web or in the Android app. Saving the plan to your account and plan-vs-actual tracking are part of Savingy Pro.
How does Savingy decide my asset allocation?
A short five-question risk quiz scores you from conservative to aggressive, then maps you to a model portfolio across equity, debt, gold, cash and international assets, with an age-based glide that gradually shifts from equity to debt after 45.
Does Savingy give investment advice?
No. Savingy provides educational projections using illustrative long-term return assumptions, so you can plan with realistic numbers. It does not recommend specific securities or funds.
How big should my emergency fund be?
Savingy targets six months of your monthly expenses, or nine months if you support more than one dependent, and tracks your progress toward it before aggressive investing.
